Directors

Founded in 1987 by the Chedda family, Kenafric Industries Limited is one of the largest manufacturers of Confectionery, Culinary, Juices, Biscuits and Snacks in Kenya. Kenafric employs over 1500 people directly and touches the lives of more than 7500 people indirectly.

The vision of the founders and relentless hard work over 25 years has given Kenafric a unique platform to grow tremendously in the African markets. Our success is driven by our people and their unrelenting focus on delivering results the right way - by operating responsibly, executing with excellence, applying innovation to our products and capturing new opportunities for profitable growth.

Bharat Shah
Founder, Chairman

Bharat’s leadership and foresight has been instrumental for the growth of Kenafric Industries Limited. Currently, he is an integral part of industry-government relationships, a member of the Board of Directors of Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and has previously held the position of Chairman for this association.

Nilesh Shah
Founder, Senior Executive Director

Nilesh was a key part of the gowing sales at Kenafric Industries Limited, managing it’s shop. Currently, he is focusing on strategic alliances and providing senior assistance within sales and account management.

Kirtan Shah
Founder, Group Managing Director

Kirtan has been fundamental to the operations and technical team at Kenafric Industries Limited. Currently, he is focused on helping the organisations key decisions for its day-to-day operations.

Mayur Shah
Founder, Senior Executive Director

Mayur has been instrumental in the growth of sales throughout Africa. He was awarded the Ernst and Young Eastern Africa Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 Award, attending the prestigious event in Monte Carlo.

Mikul Shah
CEO & Executive Director

Mikul has been a part of Kenafric Industries Limited for over 10 years. Mikul holds a Masters Degree from Manchester Business School. Through his leadership and commercial execution, he is driving the company to achieve its vision.

Chehar Shah
COO & Executive Director

Chehar has been with Kenafric Industries since 2009. He was previously a Petroleum Engineer for BP in Aberdeen, UK. He holds a Masters in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Chehar spearheads operations in the company and also overlooks new product development to drive growth and innovation.

Paul Botha
Non-Executive Director

BA LLB, HDip Tax, HDip Company Law

Paul Botha is a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Metier, an African private equity firm specialising in the investment of alternative assets. Prior to his leadership of Metier, Paul established an advisory division for Brait, an investment firm in South Africa, and was its CEO until 2003. He is an Attorney and Notary Public with a record in executing more than 250 corporate transactions, of which the majority have involved private equity transactions and the entrepreneurial multi-disciplinary assignments which Metier targets.

Jean-Sébastien Bergasse
Non-Executive Director

Jean-Sébastien Bergasse is Partner, Responsible for Investments, at Amethis. Mr Bergasse is a member of Amethis’ Executive Committee which oversees the firm’s operations and investments. He oversees the deal sourcing, staffing of the operations while leading transaction execution teams. Mr. Bergasse focuses particularly on East Africa, drawing from his experience from his time at Amethis and before. Prior to joining Amethis in 2013, Mr Bergasse was Head of Proparco’s SME Department, executing deals particularly in the MENA and African regions and managing Proparco’s Banking and Capital Market division. Mr Bergasse holds a degree in finance from the EM Grenoble Business School and a degree in business management from Assas University (Paris).
